This is a miniature whole skeleton replica of the Finless Porpoise (Neophocaena asiaeorientalis).
The model faithfully reproduces the skeletal anatomy of this distinctive finless cetacean, one of the smallest members of the porpoise family.
Most bones were created from 3D scan data obtained from a specimen in the Amphi LLC collection. The vestigial pelvic bones were digitally reconstructed to complete the skeletal model.
[Production Method]
Photopolymer resin is used as the primary material.
Each component is produced using a high-resolution stereolithography 3D printer.
After printing, the model is carefully hand-painted to resemble a natural skeletal specimen.
The layer lines typically associated with 3D printing are barely visible, resulting in a highly detailed display model.
