This is an enlarged whole skeleton replica of the Shinto Shrew (Sorex shinto), one of Japan's native shrew species.
The model was created by 3D scanning real skeletal material, allowing the delicate anatomy of this small mammal to be observed at a much larger and more accessible scale.
The replica is supplied as a standalone model only. The original specimen is not included.
Please note that the nameplate shown in some product photographs is not included.
For long-term stability, the skeleton is mounted to the display base using metal wire supports. The model can also be removed from the base if desired.
Length from forelimb to snout: Approximately 270 mm.
Produced using a high-resolution stereolithography 3D printer, the replica features exceptionally fine anatomical detail. The layer lines typically associated with 3D printing are barely visible, resulting in a clean and realistic skeletal presentation.

The model is based on 3D scan data obtained from real skeletal material.
Photopolymer resin is used as the primary material.
Each component is produced using a high-resolution stereolithography 3D printer.
After printing, the model is carefully hand-finished and painted to resemble a natural skeletal specimen.
